How it works
- Paste. Drop in a meeting transcript, a dictated note, or anything you said out loud and had transcribed.
- Count. The tool matches whole words and phrases only, case-insensitive, so "like" never fires inside "unlike" and "so" never fires inside "sounds".
- Review. See the total, the rate per 100 words, a breakdown by word, and the pasted text with every filler highlighted in place.
The current filler list: um, uh, like, you know, basically, actually, so, I mean, kind of, sort of, and literally. Nothing you paste is uploaded. The whole thing runs as plain JavaScript in your own browser.

Does this tool use my microphone?
No. You paste text into a box. The tool never requests microphone access and never records audio.
Which words count as fillers?
Um, uh, like, you know, basically, actually, so, I mean, kind of, sort of, and literally, matched as whole words or phrases so a filler word embedded inside another word, such as like inside unlike, is never counted.
Is my pasted transcript uploaded anywhere?
No. The counting runs entirely in your browser with plain JavaScript. Nothing you paste is sent to a server.
